A CHARITY leader is walking 150 miles around her Wiltshire village to raise funds to support people living with dementia.
Babs Harris, CEO at Alzheimer’s Support, had planned a much larger walk to link up the charity’s 40 community groups to mark the organisation’s 30th birthday.
Now with social distancing in place, she will be walking just five miles a day from her Bremhill home, clocking up 150 by the end of 30 days.
“My birthday present to this amazing organisation is a sponsored walk that connects all our community group locations across Wiltshire," she said adding that the charity needs support.
“Alzheimer’s Support is losing £7k each week during lock down – if I can clock up the sponsored miles, you can help us to generate much needed funds for our vital work.”
The charity is appealing for everyone to do a sponsored challenge at home on Saturday May 16.
