GP surgeries and pharmacies will be open today and on Easter Monday.

Bolton's family doctors will be open from 8am to 6.30pm and those who need to get in touch with their GP must phone first, patients who turn up without speaking to their practice on the phone will not be accepted.

Local pharmacies will be open today, over the weekend, and from at least 2pm to 5pm on Easter Monday.

Those experiencing covid-19 type symptoms ­— such as a new continuous cough and/or high temperature ­— should not go the chemist or the surgery, or hospital but ring 111 or visit www.111.nhs.uk/covid-19

Urgent dental care provision will be available over the Bank Holiday weekend from treatment hubs across Greater Manchester. Patients experiencing dental pain or needing urgent dental treatment can access advice by calling the Greater Manchester Urgent Dental Care Service on 0333 332 3800.

A Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership spokesman said: “We are expecting Easter Weekend to remain a busy period for the NHS, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We hope that by keeping GP practices and pharmacies open we can continue to provide care to those in need.

“Thank you to all GPs, pharmacists and their staff working over the break.”

Bolton at Home will continue to deliver essential services over the weekend and Careline will operate as normal.
