THIS year’s Padgate and Woolston Walking Day has been cancelled.
The popular annual walk was set to take place in June, but church in east Warrington have taken the decision to scrap the event for 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
But it will return ‘bigger and better’ in 2021, organisers say.
Chief marshal Cllr Diana Friend said: “This has been a difficult decision for us to make, but under the current situation it was inevitable.
“This event has always been very popular with many people, young and old, and especially the children who will be most disappointed.
“Having made this decision, we can now look forward to planning its return – bigger and better – next year.”
Warrington Walking Day 2020 was previously cancelled by the Covid-19 outbreak last month.
