THE man behind one-day festival Live at Lydiard says the event ‘might not happen this year’.

It is due to take place at Lydiard Park on Saturday, August 8, but due to uncertainties surrounding the coronavirus crisis the organisers have said they need to be realistic and admit it might not go ahead this summer.

Jack Summers, organiser of the event, said: “The most important thing throughout all of this is keeping people safe.

“Protecting the NHS and flattening the curve.

“All the messages you hear from the government are echoed by myself and the rest of the Live at Lydiard team.

“I would like to make it clear that we remain committed to delivering a fantastic debut Live at Lydiard.

“However, we must be realistic that the festival might not happen this year.

“I am working closely with the licensing authority, silver and gold commanders, Wiltshire Police, as well as the local and national government to make sure the public have all of the information they need with regards to events happening in Wiltshire this summer.

“As much as we want Live at Lydiard to happen this summer, first and foremost is our duty to keep people safe.

“We at Live at Lydiard must play our part in this by making sure that the festival can only happen In the right conditions.

"Our team are still working full time in isolation but are available to answer any of your questions or concerns through our relevant social media channels.

"I will personally endeavour to keep the people of Swindon and Wiltshire updated on this situation as it progresses.”
