Children in Tonge Fold may have spotted a very special visitor over the weekend.
On Sunday, Marshall from Paw Patrol took a walk around the neighbourhood to cheer up children stuck inside to slow the spread of coronavirus.
The Tonge Fold Neighbourhood Watch member walked around the Tonge Park and Ainsworth Lane area.
He was accompanied by another resident during their daily hour of exercise, waving to kids watching out of their windows.
Dave Edmondson, chairman of the area's scheme, said: "This is a fantastic and very thoughtful act by two of the residents that complies with current advice, brings a smile to many, and epitomises the community spirit that is growing in the Tonge Fold Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
"Many, many children, and adults, were so happy to see Marshall. I’d like to thank them both for brightening our day."
Social distancing rules were followed during the walk, and the pair hope to venture out again.
Any future trips will be announced on the group's Facebook page, Tonge Fold Neighbourhood Watch.
Residents have been asked to keep their distance, watching him safely from inside or the garden when possible.
Due to social distancing rules, no photographs can be taken with Marshall, and people have been urged to respect this decision.
