Police dog Fozzy helped find a suspect after parcels were stolen from the doorstep of a house in a village near Chippenham.

A spokesman said: "A man was arrested on suspicion of theft near Chippenham today.

"At approximately 10.30am on Thursday we received a call from a resident in Kington St Michael reporting that a number of parcels delivered to his address had been stolen from his doorstep.

"A description of the suspect and his direction of travel were given to officers who attended alongside Police Dog Fozzy and a man was located in a lane nearby."

An iPad, two phones and parcels were also found in his possession which he could not account for.

The man in his 30s, from Bristol, was arrested on suspicion of four counts of theft.

He was taken to custody in Melksham for further questioning.
