A NEW hot meal service in Chippenham, launched by Age UK Wiltshire, will provide daily meals to older people living alone or who are isolated.
Funded by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity, the service is an extension of Age UK Wiltshire’s successful Swindon-based operation.
A hot, tasty two course meal can be delivered to you for just £6.50 a day.
As well as providing a healthy balanced meal, essential to prevent malnutrition setting in, the Community Hot Meals service can also offer a reassuring daily welfare check for older people in these anxious times and give them access to the other support services of Age UK Wiltshire if needed.
Phil Tansley, chief executive officer of Chippenham Borough Lands Charity said: “We are happy to be supporting AGE UK Wiltshire to launch this new service for Chippenham, helping elderly people in our community during this difficult time.”
Julian Kirby, chief executive officer of Age UK Wiltshire said: “We are delighted this partnership has been launched with the support of Chippenham Borough Lands Charity, particularly at such a critical time in our society. We are very keen to start delivering this excellent service to the older people of Chippenham.”
