THOUSANDS of patients of the Bradford on Avon & Melksham Health Partnership are being urged not to go to health centres in the two towns because of the coronavirus crisis.

The partnership has texted patients asking them not to book GP appointments.

The move will also affect patients with asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and diabetics who need reviews for their illness.

The centres say they will only accept telephone appointments and visits to see one of the nurses in the green zone at the St Margaret's Surgery.

The partnership is closing its St Damian’s Branch Surgery in Melksham on Tuesday, March 31.
