From tomorrow elderly and disabled travellers in Wiltshire will be able to use their bus passes before 9.30am during the coronavirus pandemic.
Normally, elderly or disabled travellers are only permitted to use their bus passes to travel during off-peak times, however this concession has been extended to allow shoppers travel earlier and buy food and other essentials.
This comes as national supermarkets and shops have announced priority shopping sessions for elderly and vulnerable people in a response to panic buying.
In a tweet, Wiltshire Council said: "To support older and vulnerable residents in our communities during this time, they will be able to use their bus passes before 9.30am from tomorrow.
"With many supermarkets opening early specifically for them, we hope this helps them to get everything they need."
