ST NICHOLAS school in Chippenham has announced it will shut its doors for two weeks.

The school, which specialises in children with learning difficulties announced that both the school and college would be closed at least up until the Easter Holidays.

However, the purpose-built school, which has places for 78 children aged 4 to 19 years, will seek to open at the earliest opportunity.

In a letter to parents, head teach Rosalyn Way said: "Due to individual, personal circumstances amongst staff, we are having to make the difficult decision to close the school and college.

"There may be a staggered return depending on staffing levels to ensure we can meet the needs of the children in each class.

"The initial closure will be for two weeks which will take us up to the Easter Holidays.

"The school will keep the situation under review and regularly keeps parents informed through Parentmail, website and Facebook."
