UPAVON Parish Council has ordered a new defibrillator.
Insurers covered the cost after vandals destroyed the life saving equipment which was in a former phone box on Andover Road in Upavon.
It is one of just two devices located in public spaces in the village, which is a 40 minute drive in each direction to hospitals in either Swindon or Salisbury.
Parish council chairman John Tighe said he hoped the new equipment will be installed in the coming week.
