Sheila Daynes
A WOMAN who was involved in may aspects of life in Royal Wootton Bassett has died 84.
Sheila Daynes served for some years on the PTA of Wotton Bassett School ,was a former leader of the Mothers’ Union and was also active in St Bartholomew’s Ladies’ Guild.
Mrs Daynes (nee Morton ) was born on July 12, 1935, in Birmingham, and was the daughter of Clara and Clifford Morton.
The family moved to Coventry and after leaving school Sheila worked as a typist in an office.
She met Allan Daynes, in her late teens and they were married in December 1956 when Sheila was 21.
The couple had two daughters, Erica, born in 1963 and Donna in 1967. Sadly Sheila was widowed in 1988, when Allan died suddenly aged just 54.
Sheila had many friends and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
The funeral service took place at St Bartholomew’s Church, Royal Wootton Bassett, and memorial donations sere welcomed for Dementia UK.
