A NEW fitness suite at Calne Leisure Centre will open this month, as a £3.4 million project to revamp the centre moves forward.
The new gym will open at 6.30am on March 23 and Wiltshire Council hopes the whole of the centre revamp will be completed by the autumn.
The new suite is more than double its previous siez with new, state-of-the-art equipment including a free weights area, functional training rig and Smith weight machine.
It will feature smart card technology that enables people to store, track and view their workout history.
Cllr Allison Bucknell, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: “This is a significant improvement from the previous fitness suite and I’m sure our customers will be very impressed.
“There’s more work to be done at Calne Leisure Centre and we will be working hard to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum. We thank everyone for their patience but the end result will be more than worth the wait.” A number of special deals are on offer for new memberships.
