MARLBOROUGH Town Council and the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are hosting the first Marlborough Dark Skies Fest later this year.
BBC’s The Sky At Night presenter, Prof Chris Lintott, will be speaking and there will tours of the Blackett Observatory – the world’s oldest computerised telescope at Marlborough College. Events across the weekend will stretch throughout the day and night on October 3 and 4, in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues across the town.
These include moon-watching and solar astronomy talks from astronomers and themed dinners. Look out for festival news via: Marlborough Town Council www.marlborough-tc.gov.uk/darkskiesfest .
