DURSLEY residents enjoyed a flipping good Shrove Tuesday at a pan-tastic event this afternoon.
Racers once again grabbed their frying pans for the annual pancake race in the centre of town
In recognition of Shrove Tuesday, entrants representing local organisations and businesses took to Parsonage Street, to race to the finish line with pan and pancake in hand.
Will Sutton, from the Old Spot, took first place, with Chelsie Winsor, representing Henlow Court and John Kay, of Dursley Town Council coming in joint second.
Amy Addle, also of the Old Spot, came fourth.
A trophy donated by Dursley Business Inclusive, in memory of local volunteer Eileen Nichols, for the best fancy dress costume was jointly awarded to Doina Cornell and Danae Savvidou.
A spokesman for Dursley Town Council said: "We would like to thank all the runners who participated and the organisations and businesses who supported the event, including Daisy Belle Floral Design, Dursley Lions and to Classy Glass, who very kindly donated trophies and medals for the race."
The proceeds of this year's race will be presented to the Festive Dursley Working Group.
