WHERE’S Wally that was the question that rang out in Hillworth Park, Devizes on Friday when children joined in free half term fun courtesy of the town council.

The much loved fictional character was hidden all over the park and children had to join in a treasure hunt to find him and friend Wanda.

Many of them dressed in character and took part in a competion for the best costume.

Town council direct services manager Sarah Williams said: “The events was incredibly well attended and we had lots of children who dressed up as Wally and Wenda.

“Parents commented on what a lovely afternoon it was as it forced them to come and get their children running around in the fresh air for a couple of hours.

“Thanks must go please to Devizes Books who donated prizes for the best dressed children. The results will be announced on the Hillworth Park Facebook Page so those who attended need to keep an eye out.”

Children also helped to create a giant Where’s Wally poster which was made up of photos of those who completed the treasure hunt.

There is plenty more fun planned for the park in coming weeks. On April 12 an Easter egg hunt with a difference will be held from noon to 1pm and again from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

It has been titled Scrambled Eggs Easter Hunt as children will have to unscramble clues to lead them to the eggs. There will also be a prize for the best Easter bonnet.

Tickets cost £3.50 and are on sale in the park cafe.

Sunday morning free yoga in the park starts on May 3 from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Next up is twilight cinema in the park on May 23 at 7.30pm.
