A 15-year-old boy from Flintshire will be representing Wales at The British International Darts Championships.

Cole Davey, a pupil at Connah’s Quay High School, will be travelling to the British internationals in Skegness this April - and will be the only competitor from North Wales to represent his country.

Mum Natalie Davey, from Connah’s Quay, praised her teenage son - who she says ‘deserves so much praise for all of his continued hard work’ in the sport.

She said: “I’m very proud of him as he’s achieved so much for someone so young.

“Last year he was selected to represent Wales in the JDC Darts World Cup - and this year along with that he’s been selected to represent his country again through the British Darts Organisation (BDO) system.

“He’s one member out of a team of four but is the only player representing North Wales - as all of the others are from South Wales.

“It’s a massive achievement for him - he will also be travelling to the European champs in Hungary in July.”

Darts enthusiast Cole has been playing the sport since the age of 12 - and plays regularly for the Clwyd Youth County and Clwyd Superleague at the Melrose in Shotton.

He also plays numerous local leagues across Flintshire and the Wirral - who have all been supportive towards him.

Ms Davey said it was his aim to represent his country again.

“It’s a massive achievement for Cole,” she said.

“We wish him and the Wales team all the best for the forthcoming year.”
