A MAN has walked free from court after attempting to break into a charity shop in Bewsey.

Radslaw Mielcarek, of no fixed address, was caught trespassing in the rear yard of the St Rocco’s Hospice store on Lovely Lane on Friday, January 31.

Warrington Magistrates Court heard on Tuesday, February 18, that the 34-year-old had entered the premises ‘for the theft of goods’ but did not successfully steal any items.

The Polish national, formerly of Forster Street in Orford, was also found to be carrying amphetamines.

He admitted being found in an enclosed area for an unlawful purpose and possession of a class B drug.

Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs, but imposed no separate penalty.
