A FLOOD alert for Brimscombe and Thrupp is still in place this evening as Storm Dennis sweeps across the country.
The Environment Agency issued a renewed red alert for the River Frome at Brimscombe, with flooding expected, at 5pm.
They have noted river levels rising at the Brimscombe river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: "River levels have risen at the Brimscombe river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
"Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible.
"Further scattered showers are forecast over the next 48 hours.
"We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days.
"We are closely monitoring the situation.
"Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services.
"Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
