CHEQUES galore for £800 each were presented to charities after a church fundraising group raised thousands of pounds from a tree festival and other events.
Omnes Ad Unum from St Johns’s Church, Devizes, were joined by Devizes Mayor Judy Rose to make the presentations to Dorothy House Hospice, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Wiltshire Young Carers, Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and Alzheimer Support.
Cash also went to the church.
Tree festival sponsor Cross Manufacturing chose Devizes Opportunity Centre and Devizes Foodbank to receive donations and they were each given £250.
Group treasurer Tim Lacy-Hulbert said: “The highlights of the presentation afternoon were short informative talks by the charities concerned, all of which emphasised a constant need to fundraise to continue their important work.”
The next event on the Omnes fundraising calendar is a hog roast on April 18th.
