KING of Swing Asa Murphy is to return to Devizes to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of businessman and music lover Bruce Hopkins.
Liverpudlian Asa became firm friends with Bruce after the pair met while performing on cruise ships and he was devastated at his death in November, 2018.
He visited Devizes on a number of occasions to help Bruce raise money for Prostate Cancer research and will be back on April 11 to put on a show in the corn Exchange.
He said: “It will be a brand new show with Liverpool entertainers making up the variety bill. These will include comedian Lennie Anderson and singer Sandy Collins.
“I loved coming to Devizes to perform with Bruce and I came back last year to do a concert in his memory performing Buddy Holly Lives and got such a fantastic response I wanted to repeat it with a show that is a bit different. I look forward to seeing everyone.”
Tickets costing £15 are for sale at Devizes Books.
