DEVIZES Cubs put their creative talents to the test when they took part in a Scrapheap Challenge and went all the way to the county final.
Members of 6th Devizes turned cardboard boxes, bottles and tubs into cars and planes to meet a transport theme.
The winning Six then went on to the district final where the theme was the beach and won through to the county round after beating teams from Urchfont, Lavington, Calne and other Devizes packs.
Akela Scott Coleman said: “In my history of leadership at 6th Devizes, we’ve usually stopped at the district stage. But this year, my Six won the District event and went on to the county finals.”
It was won by 23 Salisbury but Mr Coleman was delighted with the efforts of Isabella, Theo, Lewie, Charlie, Ralph and Joshua.
He said: “It’s a great experience for the Cubs, teaching them teamwork and craft skills, builds confidence and much more. It also goes towards their badge work.”
