SPONSORED rough sleepers raised more than £20,000 after spending the night outside in the cold and rain.
Forty nine people, one only 10 years old, took part for Doorway’s biennial SleepOut at St Andrews Church, Chippenham.
The money raised will go towards drop-in sessions Doorway runs for homeless and vulnerably housed people in Wiltshire, and to help raise awareness of the problem of homelessness.
Jo Kitching, Director of Doorway said: “We were overwhelmed by the support of the local community for our SleepOut this year and it looks as though we’ve raised more money than ever for our charity."
