WARMINSTER Town Council is to switch its use of gas and electricity to a green energy supplier.
At a full council meeting last week, councillors decided to switch to Total Gas and Power.
The council has been supplied by Scottish and Southern Energy for gas and electricity at Dewey House and the Civic Centre.
The switch through Resolve Energy, an energy supply broker, means the SSE contract will end when it comes up for renewal in June.
Total Gas and Power submitted the cheapest alternative bid from a green energy supplier.
The council said: “Overall, it is £2,692.66 cheaper per annum to move over to Total Gas and Power on a green energy contract.”
Total Gas and Power supplies over 175,000 sites across all market sectors and 60,000 public sector sites, including local authorities, the NHS, schools and housing associations.
