BERKSHIRE Lowland Search & Rescue (BLSAR) has spent 440 hours, and counting, looking for a missing man who disappeared from Sonning earlier this month.

Alexander Stern, originally from Kensington, was last seen at the Bull Inn, Sonning, on Saturday, January 11 at about 7:30pm.

At this time, the 36-year-old was seen wearing dark clothing and carrying a rucksack, which he may no longer be in possession of.

He was also wheeling a suitcase.

CCTV images from that evening show Mr Stern heading past the Coppa Club towards Sonning Bridge on the B478.

BLSAR have been cooperating with Thames Valley Police in the search for Mr Stern since January 17.

They resumed their search earlier this week deploying water teams, along with foot teams who have been assisted by drones.

Their temporary base is set up at the Mill, Sonning, where they are using all possible resources to cover as much ground as possible.

Investigating officer, detective chief inspector Christina Berenger, said: “We have not had any confirmed sightings of Alexander since the evening he went missing, and we are very concerned for his welfare… We are continuing to do everything that we can to find Alexander and our search for him will carry on.”

Anyone with any details should call Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 43200016370.

BLSAR is a volunteer staffed charity who work 365 days a year to assist the Police in finding high risk missing persons who are believed to be at risk of injury or death.

They are often the first point of call for police forces where their highly trained search technicians use the latest mapping and communication technologies to locate missing persons.
