THE following cases were among those heard by Cleveland magistrates sitting at Middlesbrough Magistrates’ Court in the last week.

MARGARET ATKINSON, 58, of Clive Road, Middlesbrough was ordered to pay a total of £161.25 in court fines and charges for using a vehicle without an excise licence.

ANDREW JOHN BAILEY, 52, of Alfred Street, Redcar, failed to comply with a community protection notice by insulting a member of the public and throwing an unknown substance at a window of a Marske property. He was ordered to pay a total of £184 in court fines and charges.

GEMMA LITTLEWOOD, 31, of Hart Lane, Hartlepool was ordered to pay a total of £976 in court fines and charges for failing to ensure her child regularly attended school.

JAMIE PRICE, 27, of Marine View, Hartlepool, was ordered to pay a total of £460 in court fines and charges for failing to ensure his child regularly attended school.

LISA GREEN, 40, of Carmel Gardens, Middlesbrough, was ordered to pay a total of £150 in court fines and charges and given a six-month conditional discharge for failing to ensure her child regularly attended school.

LIAM FOSTER, 26, of Ordsall Green, Middlesbrough, committed motoring offences including driving without a licence or insurance, driving whilst disqualified and driving with cocaine in his system. He was sentenced to 12-weeks in prison, suspended for 18-months. He was placed under a four-month curfew with electronic monitoring and rehabilitation requirements. He was also ordered to pay a total of £742 in court fines and charges.

CAMERON CHRISTOPHER MCLEOD, 34, of Annandale Crescent, Hartlepool, breached a disqualification order under the Animal Welfare Act by controlling or influencing an animal. He also failed to surrender to court whilst on bail. He was ordered to pay a total of £112 in court fines and charges.

JONATHAN EVIS, 27, of Melrose Drive, Hartburn, Stockton, used threatening or abusive words towards three police officers in Stockton. He was given a community order with a rehabilitation requirement order and 200-hours of unpaid work within the next 12-months. He was also ordered to pay a total of £175 in court fines and charges.

COLIN JAMES CHAPMAN, 38, of Cowshill Green, Stockton, was ordered to pay a total of £106 in court fines and charges for harassment.

JAMES THOMAS WILSON, 30, of Dundas Street, Stockton, had a quantity of class B drugs, and a 10 inch wooden handled hunting knife in his possession. He is subject to a community order and 28-day curfew between 10pm and 6am. He also has to pay a total of £285 in court charges.

LEE COLIN FAIL, 35, of Albert Gate Apartments, Park Road South, Middlesbrough, stole 32 shower gels, to the value of £32, from One Below Store. He also caused £140 worth of damage to a Cleveland Police cell on January 19. He was given a 28-day prison sentence and told to pay a victim surcharge of £122.

KIEREN FERGUSON, 24, of Musgrave Walk, Hartlepool, was due to appear charged with being in charge of a motor vehicle after consuming so much alcohol that there was 85 microgrammes of alcohol to 100 millilitres of breath, which is above the prescribed limit. His guilt was proved in his absence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
