YOUNG girls are getting ready to boost the coffers of their Brownie pack and to also help elderly in their village.

Members of the Market Lavington Brownies, who meet at the Old School, in Market Lavington, near Devizes on Monday evening from 6pm to 7.30pm have made their own posters to advertise their jumble and cake sale.

Eagle owl Eleanor Cheetham said: “The Brownies are very excited about the sale and have been collecting lots and lots of stuff to sell.

“The money will go to Brownie funds but also to help pay for activities at the HC One care home in the village.”

Ms Cheetham is the activity co-ordinator at the home and so thought it would be a good idea to combine her two roles by organising the fundraiser.

She said: “The parents are getting involved as well by baking cakes.”

The sale will be held at Old School in Church Street from 2pm to 4pm on February 29 The Brownies are also using the experience to help them gain badges.
