FIVE university students have been fined for playing loud music at their shared house in Winton after they were told to stop.

Hannah Alexander, 21, Carli Bardwell, 21, Will Clegg, 20, Jordan Dobbs, 21 and Tallulah Price, 21, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Wednesday to admit the offence against them.

Prosecutors said the five were served with a noise abatement notice by BCP Council while living at a property in Edgehill Road.

However, they contravened or failed to comply a requirement, which was to abate and prohibit the recurrence of a statutory nuisance arising from loud music and shouting.

The five were students at Bournemouth University at the time the offence was committed.

Alexander, of Grove Road, Tring, Bardwell, of Green Lane, Althorne, Essex, Clegg, of Twynham Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, Dobbs, of Tudor Way, Rickmansworth, Herts, and Price, of Springfield Close, Croxley Green, Herts, were all fined £100 and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge and £100 costs.
