THERE is an appeal for information following an assault which left a Chippenham man requiring hospital treatment.
The incident occurred in Dallas Road near to the junction with Audley Road at approximately 8.30pm yesterday (January 10).
The man, who is aged in his 50s, was assaulted by two members of a group of approximately five people.
During the assault he was struck to the face with a bottle. This caused a deep laceration to his face and he was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
It is believed the group ran off along Dallas Road towards the fire station when disturbed by residents in the street.
The victim has been able to provide a description of two of the suspects as follows:
1. A man aged in his 20s, approximately 5 ft 7 inches tall, with tanned complexion, short dark hair and wearing a white top.
2. A shorter man who was wearing an orange top.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or any drivers including taxi drivers who have dash cam footage from the area. You may have unknowingly captured the suspects.
