A MUM-OF-THREE whose Facebook page for cheap children's days out has 10,000 likes has set up a new website.

Rosie Bedford created a group in August on Facebook called Days Out for Kids in Swindon, offering low-cost alternatives for families wanting to find new things to do.

Now her new website – daysoutforkidsswindon.com – is going live on January 24. It will help people find all the posts in one place.

Rosie, from West Swindon, said: “The Facebook page has become really popular with 10,000 members in four months, so I felt there was a need to include all of these places on a website.

“The Days Out for Kids website aimed for families in Swindon to find new and exciting places to go with their children instead of visiting our well-known attractions such as Coate Water and Lydiard Park.”

The 28-year-old hopes that local child-friendly businesses will want to advertise on the site to generate funding so that she can put back into the community by holding free events for children.

“I feel like the website can help professionals working with children and their families or schools in finding new cost-effective day trips,” she said.

She added: “I’ve been blown away by the feedback I’ve received since creating the Facebook group.

“I’ve received personal messages which have been lovely, and many messages on the group itself.”

The mum has spent her evenings creating the new site.

She said: “I was creating the website when the children have been tucked in bed.

“This has been a learning curve for me as I’ve never used a website builder before.

“It’s far from perfect but if it helps even a couple families and their children that’s all that matters to me.”

Some of the free or cheap places Rosie recommended includes TWIGS Community Gardens on the Manor Garden Centre site and the Brunel Centre with its Ping Pong Parlour everyday between 10am and 6pm.
