FOOTBALL fans were spotted queuing outside the County Ground this morning to get their hands on a limited-edition purple t-shirt.

Swindon Town’s Darby-Rimmer MND Foundation third shirt went on general sale at 9 am, with all proceeds going to the Foundation to help fight motor neurone disease.

There was a limited number of 300 shirts available exclusively in the club shop. These new t-shirts were priced at £44,99 each and were all sold out in just a few hours.

A spokesman for STFC said: “ The club would like to extend its thanks to both Imagine Cruising and our kit supplier, PUMA, for their huge effort.”

The charity was founded by former Town player Stephen Darby and ex-serviceman Chris Rimmer, both diagnosed with the condition.

Town fan and Adver reporter Connor Mountford said: “I got to the County Ground at about 8.40 am and the queue was already at the other end to the shop.

“I was queueing until about 10.15 am but by the time I got to the shop there were only small and medium t-shirts available.

“Probably a lot of people were left disappointed, especially if they needed a large. I got a medium one but it’s a bit too tight.”

For the first time since 2010, the club did not wear red at home against today’s opponents, Bradford City.
