SINGER Carly Paoli popped into to re-acquaint herself with the animals down on the farm in Devizes and also brought with her a cheque for £121.

Last year Miss Paoli, who lives in a village near Devizes, held a concert to help Caenhill Countryside Centre and so when she was asked to sing for elderly people at Anstie Court and they had a charity collection she knew where the cash should go.

Chris and Hellie Franklin who run the centre were delighted to receive the money which will help support their farm which takes in animals and holds educational courses for young people.

Miss Paoli said: “ The concert at the retirement apartments was organised at very short notice just before Christmas. I sang some Christmas songs.

“It was then lovely to go back and see Chris and Hellie and the animals.”

She also helped raise money for the Stroke Association when a carol concert was held at Marlborough College chapel.
