REPRESENTATIVES from a Calne school were invited to the Houses of Parliament where they were recognised in the Parliamentary Review.

As the most improved school in Wiltshire, Kingsbury Green Secondary sent governors to the event where experts showcase some of the best practice in the education field. It was run by former Conservative minister Lord Pickles and former Labour minister Lord Blunkett.

Chair of governors Nicky Brennan and vice chair of governors Julie Braham represented the school at the champagne reception, which was held in the Houses of Parliament.

Ms Brennan said: "This is my eighth year as a governor, and there is real drive and passion to be our very best at the new Kingsbury Green Academy.

“There has been rapid improvement made in the school, but one of the challenges can be perceptions by outsiders, so it is great to see the school formally recognised for this."

Ms Braham added: "There is a lot we can all learn and share, and the tone of the event was very celebratory."
