Taking action on climate change in 2020 must be on the agenda for all MPs elected for Wiltshire in the General Election, urges local Green Party parliamentary candidate, Julie Phillips.
The Green Party fielded candidates in five of the seven Wiltshire constituencies and is still campaigning for more to be done to reduce climate change and protect the environment.
She said: "Support for green policies was reflected in the significant increase in the green share of the vote on December 12, growing by an additional two per cent from the 2017 election.
"That meant a rise of 5,176 votes in Wiltshire which mirrors increasing support for the green policies.
"From our conversations on the doorstep, we know that people are more concerned than ever about the implications of climate change, for them individually.
"Our increased share of the vote in such a Conservative stronghold, shows just how worried they are.
"While we didn't gain a seat here, we will continue to campaign locally and nationally to represent those many voters who feel unheard and unrepresented.
"We are calling on those MPs elected to take action on climate change now."
