Do you love local politics? Would you like to be the Gazette & Herald's and Wiltshire Times' eyes and ears on Wiltshire Council?

Then we want to hear from you.

We have a vacancy for a Local Democracy Reporter, whose role would focus on shining a light on Wiltshire Council.

It would cover everything from going along to meetings and speaking to councillors, to investigating issues relating to the council.

Editor Pete Gavan said: "This is a brilliant and important role we run in partnership with the BBC. To have someone dedicated to covering the council in this way means we get detailed analysis and deeper coverage of what the local authority is doing.

"If this sounds like something you would like to do, please get in touch."

"We're looking for someone who, ideally, is NCTJ qualified or has experience working on a local newspaper. And strong interest in local politics is vital and the ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines."

If you would like to apply, please email pete.gavan@newsquest.co.uk with your CV and a covering letter explaining why your the candidate we want to hire.
