A MAN found hiding in the loft was arrested after police raided a cannabis farm in Cottingley.

The house in Manor Road was raided by police after a tip-off from the public yesterday morning and more than 300 cannabis plants worth an estimated £60,000 was found and seized.

Bingley officers tweeted that they were acting on intelligence from a street surgery to meet the local community.

Sgt Terri Green, of Shipley Neighbourhood policing team, described it as a "professional cannabis farm" with the plants located in the lounge and all three bedrooms upstairs.

The male found in the loft was arrested and was recalled to prison as a result.

Sgt Green added: "I am hoping this reassures you that when you tell us we take action wherever we can.

"We cannot always feedback what action we have taken due to data protection laws, so it is nice to be able to on this occasion."
