A MAN was left with a broken nose after being headbutted in an unprovoked attack outside a town centre nightclub.
Warrington Magistrates Court heard last week that the victim of the assault, Ryan Davies, was in Reef bar on Bridge Street in the early hours of Friday, April 19, when he saw defendant Scott Brogan – who he had known for around five years.
When the club closed at around 5am, Brogan approached Mr Davies outside and ‘started being verbally aggressive’.
The 27-year-old then headbutted him in middle of the face, leaving him with blood pouring from his nose.
Mr Davies, 25, was later punched in the face by another male – and while he suffered a broken nose it is unclear which attack he sustained the injury in.
He attended A&E and subsequently had to undergo surgery.
Brogan, of Buckingham Drive in Great Sankey, admitted assault on Friday, November 29, and was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
The defendant – who has three previous conviction for four offences including assault and possession of cocaine – was also handed a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 25 days and told to pay compensation of £1,000 plus court costs of £400 and a victim surcharge of £85.
