HISTORY was brought back to life by The Sealed Knot society as they put on a demonstration afternoon.
They hosted a demonstration in Chippenham, showing the equipment and talking about life during this time.
Major Paul Redfern, Commander of Sir Gilbert Hoghton’s Company of Foote, said: “We carried out a number of demonstrations to locals and went through the intricacies of using the equipment on the battlefield. A lot of people came to look at the kit but kids really enjoyed it.
“We got a few people recruited but we’re planning to do a larger event next September.”
Manager of the pub, Karen Brewster, said: “They had costumes where the public could dress up and practice with the guns. Learning what they did, kids were fascinated and it was really good. It’s something completely different for adults and children.”
The Sealed Knot society is a charity which holds re-enactments of battles around the English Civil War.
