A junior hockey club in Corsham has received a welcome cash boost from a local housebuilder.
Bellway – which is building new homes at Pickwick Court and Dickens Gate in Corsham – donated £400 to the Youth Academy at Corsham Hockey Club.
The club trains at the artificial turf pitch at Springfield Community Campus, off Beechfield Road, and will put the money towards England Hockey training for the club’s coaches.
Sheila Stansfield, junior chairwoman at Corsham Hockey Club, said: “We are really grateful to have received this kind donation from Bellway.
“We are always aiming to improve our club, but we can only do this if our coaches are trained to the highest standard.
“Training costs are extremely expensive, especially for a local club, so this money will make a really big difference to the team.”
Christel Hawkins, sales manager at Bellway South West, said: “As a housebuilder, we are committed to enhancing the local communities in which we build new homes.
“The club is a huge part of the community in Corsham, so it is fantastic to be able to support them and help them to provide further training for their coaches.”
Bellway is building new homes at Pickwick Court, off Bath Road and Dickens Gate, off Bradford Road in the town.
The final four-bedroom house is now on sale at Pickwick Court, priced from £409,995.
The first plots at Dickens Gate are also available, with prices starting from £279,995 for three-bedroom properties.
