TRAVIS Perkins is set to leave its huge industrial unit in Appleton Thorn, with the site having been put up for sale for nearly £8million.
The builders’ merchants giant has put its 11-acre distribution centre at Appleton Thorn Trading Estate on the market at a price of £7.95m.
Estate agents Avison Young say the 110,000sq ft freehold plot on Lyncastle Road offers ‘recently refurbished industrial accommodation with high quality office workspace and concrete yards’.
But Travis Perkins sites at Omega, Howley and Lymm will remain unaffected by the proposals.
Simon Hampson, director at Avison Young’s Manchester office, said: “There remains a shortage of industrial space in the market – especially in Warrington – and following its recent refurbishment, a freehold opportunity of this size and quality is rare.
“The site comprises a large main warehouse and an open-sided warehouse ideal for large distributors, and we expect the site to generate a lot of interest.”
