FARMERS at East Wick Farm, near Marlborough, have won the Regional Farm Conservation award.

Over 50 Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) members gathered at Wootton Rivers Village Hall to mark FWAG’s 50th anniversary in October.

Richard and David Butler, of East Wick Farm, were presented with the FWAG South West Barn Owl award for conservation in 2018.

They beat four finalists to win the regional competition, which celebrates farmers that go the extra mile to produce food sustainably and conserve farmland wildlife.

Richard Butler said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded the trophy. This accolade has inspired development on the farm such as the ponds and nest boxes. It’s been a huge incentive for us to continue our work, with conservation in mind”.
