A PROLIFIC burglar has been sent back to jail for two years and four months after breaking into a home in Swindon.
Oliver Reed, of Whitehead Street in Swindon stole a bicycle, mobile phone and battery power packs from the property on Bath Road Monday 23 September 23.
The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to burglary at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, adding to his list of more than 40 previous convictions.
Detective Constable Jared Yalden said: “We will do all we can to track down and prosecute those responsible for this horrendous crime.
“In this case, CCTV played a vital role in identifying, apprehending and prosecuting the offender, and I welcome the sentence he received.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage the local community to look at their homes from a burglar’s perspective and do everything they can to reduce their risk of becoming a victim."
Reed was sentenced to four-and-a-half years behind bars back in 2017 for entering a Faringdon Road property and stealing a car, then committed his newest crime after being released.
