SECURITY guards and police rushed through Christmas crowds to reports of an assault in McDonald’s.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault as crowds attending the town centre Christmas lights switch-on event on Saturday night tried to head home.

But he was swiftly de-arrested when it became clear there had been a misunderstanding and there had been no assault.
A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said there had been no other arrests at Saturday night's lights event.
