The children at Kennet Valley School in Lockeridge, near Marlborough, were all very excited today to be taking part in a super day of fundraising and fun, alongside their usual studies, to help raise money for Children in Need.

Pupils and staff paid a £1 donation to come to school wearing their pyjamas and brought their favourite teddy, so they could all enjoy a Teddy Bear’s Tea Party of fruit drinks and homemade cakes in the school hall, where the Year 6 pupils read stories to the younger pupils and there was a school raffle to win various cuddly toys including a Pudsey bear.

The Headteacher Mrs Russell said “It is fantastic to see the whole school community pull together to help raise money for such a great cause, and it fills me with pride to see that all of our children here not only participate, but also recognise the real reason for the fun is to help disadvantaged children all over the country.”

At the end of the school day, Kennet Valley had raised £144 for Children In Need.
