WARRINGTON'S Patisserie Valerie has been almost completely cleared – a week after it closed without warning.

The unit in Golden Square Shopping Centre has been gutted and the tables and chairs removed.

It closed last Tuesday, just over a year after it first arrived in the town.

Warrington Guardian:

The notice placed in the shop last week

Staff were told when they reported for work that morning, the Warrington Guardian understands.

The Warrington branch opened in August 2018.

The cafe chain went into administration in January but a number of stores, including the Warrington one, were saved after a buyout by Causeway Capital Partners in February.

However more of the stores have closed elsewhere in the country throughout the year.
