A MUM-of-three is hoping to support expectant parents by branching out with a new business.

Clare Millar, from Woolston, has set up Thriving Families, a way to offer parents the advice and support they need to feel confident with their baby.

Clare has more than 10 years of experience working in early help for the Local Authority and has raised three children, aged 10, seven and two.

The 40-year-old said: "I want Thriving Families to empower expectant parents, particularly new mums.

"I will work directly with parents and help them understand that they are the expert in their baby and children and that they can be the parents they want to be."

Clare is training to be a Baby Calm consultant who shares what babies are capable of, their development and helps parents to build a positive relationship with their baby.

She is also hoping to improve a family's mental health.

Clare explained: "The earlier that we make an impact on family life, the better impact we can have on long term opportunities for our families and children, particularly our relationships, our mental health and our children’s emotional wellbeing."

Thriving Families offers a four-week Preparing to Parent course, two-hour workshops for parents with babies up to one and one-to-one tailored support consultations.

There is also a fortnightly new mums meet-up and a free WhatsApp online community for all parents involved.
