A MAN has been released with charges pending following a drugs warrant at an address in Corsham.

Officers from the community policing team and the community tasking team did the warrant at the address in Long Close Avenue before 8am on November 7. They were assisted by police dog Echo.

A quantity of cannabis and suspected class A drugs were found. A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of being in the supply of class A and B drugs.

PC Ashleigh Bray said: “I hope this result provides some reassurance to the local community that we will act on information we receive. We have a zero tolerance approach to drugs and will deal with individuals robustly. I know there is a common misconception of cannabis amongst the public, with many people thinking it is a harmless drug and not worth our time investigating. Cannabis is an illegal drug and can do harm in our communities.

“It’s really important that the public do not assume that the police are aware of suspected drug activity in their neighbourhood. It’s crucial that any concerns are reported to us so we can take appropriate action.”
