DOG owners have been asked to keep their dogs on leads as a sheep was mauled to death near Warminster at the end of last month.
Police are asking any witnesses to come forward as they try to find the dog and its owner who are responsible for the attack.
The sheep was killed around 3pm on October 31 at a farm meadow on the road between the A350 and Tytherington.
PCSO Candida Jackson said: “It appears to have been quite a large dog that has done this.
We would like to remind all dog walkers of the importance of keeping their pets on leads when there are farm animals around, and the potentially fatal consequences of livestock worrying and dog attacks.
“I’d like to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area who may have seen anything suspicious.”
