THE 45th Calne Music and Arts Festival starts tomorrow (Oct 3) and will feature a wide range of acts performing over the next ten days.

Festival president Carole Browne said: “We are the longest running festival in Wiltshire and it has been running continually since 1975, organised by a small committee of volunteers.

“Even Glastonbury has had a break some years.

“As usual the Festival will offer classical concerts, opera, jazz, folk and choral groups. There are many art events including competitions and workshops for children as well as an open art exhibition at Marden House.”

On Sat5urday Pirates of Penzance Opera will be at Marden House from 7.30pm and on Tuesday BBC Gardener’s Question Time comes to Calne for an early evening recording.

On the same evening the Jazz group, The Schmoozenbergs, will be performing in Marden House.
