ALL hands were on pump at the weekend as Chippenham fire station held a charity car wash in aid of the fire fighters charity.

Fire fighters get stuck in on Saturday (Sept 28) to raise money for the good cause.

The Fire Fighters Charity provides help to serving and retired personnel, their widows/widowers and young dependants through the provision of sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, rehabilitation and therapy, as well as giving financial support to those who need it.

Jill Fulker lives in Trowbridge and is a registrar, based in the council building. She said: "It was a lovely chance to meet out fire fighters really, we'd be lost without them. They were very cheerful and we had a top notch clean.

"My son brought his car down too and they got stuck in, the charity is a great charity to support so we were happy to take part."
